The registered charity Friends of Aylward Primary School in Stanmore hosted their very first Fireworks Extravaganza on November 3.
The event attracted a number of local residents and “exceeded all expectations”.
The event offered a variety of attractions and entertainment, including food vendors, a bar, music, and business stalls, as well as two displays, including a low-noise option.
Money raised on the night will go towards building an outside classroom, further supporting pupils’ educational needs.
One attendee remarked: “A huge thank you to those who organised the fireworks display. The atmosphere was lovely and the display itself was incredible.”
A spokesperson for the charity said: “The event created a wonderful community atmosphere, bought people together and fostered a sense of community. We’re already discussing plans for next year due to the success!”
Construction work on the school’s new classroom is due to start this month.
