Amersham resident Colleen Frazer has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for Kieran de Guyatt, after his donations van was senselessly vandalised on October 15.
Kieran’s van, nicknamed “The Flying Scotsman”, was bought with the explicit purpose of driving donations over to war-torn Ukraine in mind. The 33-year-old himself raised over £1000 to buy the van last November, then travelled past tanks and trenches to deliver vital supplies like medical equipment to civilians in Ukraine last March.
This October, Kieran was devastated to find that vandals had smashed his windows and slashed his tyres. His insurance company offered to cover repair costs for only two of the eight broken windows.
“Kieran has put so much of his time and energy into this aid project,” explained Colleen, whose father Glenn travelled with Kieran to Ukraine on his last trip. “Lots of generous people have already donated, and thankfully the vandals left all the supplies inside the van untouched.”
“I know that he wants to support other people and places beyond just Ukraine. It would be such a shame if he’s forced to give up after what’s happened this month.”
