Chalfont St Peter residents have expressed their anger at the people responsible for vandalising and stealing post-box toppers in Chalfont St Peter.
A member of the Chalfont St Peter Yarn Bombers group took to social media to inform residents of a missing post-box topper.
She said: “I made this topper to brighten up the village. I had planned to take it down after the kids went back to school and rework it to use again on a different box. However, it was not there on Saturday morning so must have been taken on Friday night (April 14).”
Another topper, which was on the post-box near Gerrards Cross Tennis Club, was found vandalised.
Locals described the act as “disgraceful” and “needless”, some took to social media to express their frustration.
One person said: “Mindless vandalism, what possible pleasure can someone get from doing this?!
I suppose we can assume the same has happened to the one from the precinct.”
Another person talking about the stolen topper said: “I am stunned that someone would take it. I’m so upset for you. When I saw it over Easter, I thought it’s so lovely, I took a picture and shared it on Facebook. I do hope it turns up and the thief sees the error of their ways.”
