Northwood’s poor start to the season continued after Scott Dash’s men were crushed 6-1 in their own backyard by Waltham Abbey FC.
The visitors set the tone for the afternoon when they took the lead with just two minutes on the clock.

Taking to Twitter after the full time whistle, the club offered a realistic assessment of the second 45 minutes.
Speaking on their Twitter, Northwood FC wrote: “A very poor defensive display in the second half by Woods allowed the away team to score easy soft goals.
“Poor marking and silly fouls allowed @walthamabbeyfc totake full control of the game. Very little created from home team.”
A dejected Scott Dash also apologised.
He wrote: “I take full responsibility for today. Our second half capitulation was up there with the worst I have witnessed and I make no mistake I am fighting for my job no. Sorry to all who attended. I refuse to give up I will fight to the end.”
Northwood travel to Chertsey on Tuesday 6th October.
