I like to think I’m one of life’s enthusiasts.
When something grabs my attention and interests me I really get into it, almost obsessively. If something doesn’t get me excited I can’t even begin to pay it lip service.
There are certain things in my life that fire me up and that I’m extremely passionate about. My family, my business, utilising My News as a way to support the community, cycling, gin, and football.
So you can imagine my enthusiasm when a chance came up for my business to sponsor not just a football club but the entire league.
I couldn’t been more up for it if you offered me a day’s cycling tour of gin palaces accompanied by my family and with a football match sponsored by My News thrown in at the end of the ride.
This season my business has sponsored the newly christened My News Herts Senior County League.
It’s an organisation I know well from my time as secretary with Evergreen FC. It is a great set up and encourages grass football to grow and stay strong in many of the areas we publish magazines. The league also offers disabled people the chance to play the beautiful game.
Every year we look to focus the support of My News on as many different events, organisations and causes as possible. We’ve sponsored Bushey based boxing champion Miles Shinkwin as he strives for glory.
We’ve done a lot for the Peace Hospice over the years as well as dozens of other community groups.
The ethos of our magazines is about the value of the community and we’ve never been afraid to put our money where our mouth is and show our support.
The deal we did the league was a win win for all involved. My News gets some great exposure in areas we need to be seen and the league gets some money and constant coverage and profile raising publicity in our publications.
I’m hoping to catch a few games and give my support from the touchlines and not just from behind my office desk.
Thanks for reading.
Nik
