The Kings Langley Neighbourhood Plan (KLNP) will be sent to Dacorum Borough Council (DBC) after it was approved in a referendum last week.
In the village-wide referendum on November 17, 905 votes were cast, with 92 per cent in favour. This means the plan can now go to DBC for ratification and incorporation in planning policy.
The KLNP is essentially a set of policies, relating to a vision of how the village community wants Kings Langley to develop over the next 18 years, and will help to decide planning applications within the parish.
John Morrish, the Kings Langley Parish Council councillor heading up the KLNP team, said the councillors are looking forward to passing the plan on to DBC.
He said: “I am delighted that we had such a high turnout and have passed this phase of the plan with such great support from the village. Thanks to everyone who voted and we look forward to our plan being incorporated into DBC planning from early next year.”
