Raising £10,000 for Cancer Research UK was an incredible feat – but for Jayden, Louis, Kavi, Taylor, Jackson, Tom and Harrison, it was just the beginning.
Last year, the group of determined friends from Kings Langley and Hemel Hempstead took on the gruelling 4x4x48 challenge, which saw them run four miles every four hours for 48 hours.
This year, the group decided to take it up a notch by doubling the distance, and the impact.
They have set themselves the goal of running 96 miles in 96 hours for another personal cause.
Jayden shared that the team has chosen to support the Hospice of St Francis, whose “amazing” work supported his grandfather in his final days.
Kings News caught up with Jayden to discuss the challenge and the motivation behind it.
He shared: “The reaction to last year’s challenge was honestly incredible. Everyone got behind us and did whatever they could to help which made the whole experience even more special. That’s a big part of why we’re doing it again.
“We wanted to build on the success and push ourselves further, so doubling the distance felt like the natural next step and the right challenge.
“The team is feeling good about it, excited but a bit nervous. We have also had great support again from friends, family, and the local community which makes a huge difference.”
The challenge will take place from Wednesday, August 6, to Sunday, August 10.
