A school in Bushey is set to be partly demolished and rebuilt as part of major redevelopment plans after the current buildings were deemed to be “inefficient”.
Hertsmere Borough Council planning officers approved the plans for Little Reddings Primary School, which will see the school partially demolished and replaced with a two-storey building, at a recent planning meeting.
The plans also include redeveloping the creche in the retained single storey of the existing building.
Headteacher Rebecca Treager said: “We received a unanimous vote for the rebuilding programme from local councillors and they were very complimentary of the plans.
“It is such an exciting time and we are looking forward to being part of this momentous live project. The children are really keen to narrate this unique journey!”
A planning report reads: “The proposal would aim to provide safe, modern buildings in line with the Department for Education’s output specifications, while the new building would be greener, helping to meet net-zero standards.”
