Hertsmere MP Oliver Dowden CBE has been appointed Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced the cabinet reshuffle this afternoon.
Mr Dowden was one of the 193 MPs who backed the new Prime Minister.
Speaking on his new role Mr Dowden said: “Delighted to be appointed as Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster for our new PM. Let’s get to work.”
Last week he shared on Twitter: “Rishi Sunak is clearly the best person to lead our country through these difficult and turbulent times. That’s why I’m supporting him to be Leader of the Conservative Party and Prime Minister.”
Before his new post, he was previously Minister without Portfolio, Cabinet Office since September 15, 2021. He was elected as Hertsmere MP in May 2015.
