Radlett Cricket Club’s 1st XI has a new captain taking the helm for the 2025 season.
After taking over, Dominic Chatfield highlighted his hopes for the upcoming season, believing the team are in a “good position to push for the Premier League title”.
This comes after a couple of seasons in which the club have struggled to secure gold. Indeed, their last trophy success was the T20 Hertfordshire competition in 2023.
Dominic said: “Within the club, there are a number of exciting players emerging through the teams and I am looking forward to seeing how all the teams go this summer. Tom Jenkins will lead our training sessions which will help all players grow and develop. I am looking forward to working with all the captains to make 2025 a successful one for Radlett Cricket Club.”
Unfortunately, a couple of players have left the club this year, including Chris Arul, who will be playing at Totteridge Millhillians, and Randeep Sanghera, who has moved to Canada.
A spokesperson for the club said: “Thank you to both players for your contributions over the years and the club and players wish you both the very best for the future.”
However, it is not all doom and gloom, as the first team has seen the addition of 21-year-old star Archie Harrison, who was previously contracted to Derbyshire County Cricket Club.
Dominic added: “We will have to work extremely hard this year as a team, but our performance will be driven by very clear team philosophies and game plans in order for us to be successful this season.”
The first match of the new season took place on Saturday, May 10.
