When streetlights dim and stands fall silent, Vicarage Road will host a different kind of event. On Friday, February 27, hundreds are expected to trade beds for sleeping bags as part of the Dreams United Stadium Sleep Out.
The aim is to raise money and vital awareness for charities supporting individuals experiencing homelessness.
Participants will spend the night inside the stadium until Saturday, February 28, experiencing a small glimpse of the challenges faced by people who have no choice but to sleep rough every night.
The event aims to highlight the growing issue of homelessness in the area, while raising vital funds to support charities working on the frontline.
A spokesperson from DENS said: “Snooze on your sofa, kip on the kitchen floor or slumber in your shed to help struggling families who need the support of our Foodbank.”
While it is only one night without comfort, organisers say it can make a lasting difference, helping provide shelter, support and hope for those who need it most.
