Do you know an individual who has shown outstanding bravery in the face of adversity? They may be the perfect fit to be nominated for a MyLocalHero Award.
Since its inception in 2009, the awards, held at the prestigious Grove Hotel, have celebrated heroes who have played an integral part in the community.
After being put on hold due to the pandemic, the awards are ready to return in style on Saturday, November 12, 2022.
In the past, we have honoured people from all over our news patches whose dedication to making their communities better for everyone we feel is deserving of commendation.
Never has this been more important than now, after witnessing people from across our 17 magazines step up in the face of uncertainty over the past two years.
The Outstanding Bravery Award, sponsored by Scott Patmore from Scala Financial Services, recognises individuals who have shown courage in the face of a tremendous challenge where others may have wavered.
At the last event in 2019, Shenley Post Office owner Dayaram Nakrani, scooped up the award after he stood firm and defended his family and shop from burglars in September last year. Dayaram, who lives in a flat above the shop with his wife and children, heard noises coming from downstairs and challenged them until they left.
