The NHS in the East of England and in North London, who are reviewing the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre (MVCC) have spent the last two months speaking to patients and carers about their experiences.
The NHS groups, who have raised concerns about the long-term clinical sustainability of the Northwood-based centre, held online focus groups throughout October and November with patients and carers from all of MVCC’s departments to decide what the best options might be for the future.
Prior to the online discussions, which conclude tomorrow (November 27), the NHS said: “We are looking at each cancer pathway and want to hear from patients and carers about what does and does not work well for you, and what your priorities would be.
“We also need your input into decisions we need to make about the location of additional radiotherapy services for the North Hertfordshire and South Bedfordshire populations, and the way the whole service is organised.
“We want to gather as many views as possible because we need to make the best possible changes.”
