An eagle-eyed resident has managed to capture what could be the famous “Beast of Croxley”, a large black cat-like creature that allegedly roams the local area.
Stewart Wright took this photo whilst out on an evening stroll on Croxley Green. It was later posted onto the RCCG community Facebook group by his partner, Lynnette Jackson.
She stated: “What is this? Spotted on Croxley Green this evening by my partner. Described as a black lynx type thing. Bigger than a fox?”
Some residents speculated that the ‘beast’ could be one of the many big cats of nearby Buckinghamshire that are rumoured to roam the county and may have somehow found its way to Hertfordshire.
This particular creature had allegedly last been seen in the Sarratt area in 2022.
In August of 2007, the beast made headlines when it attempted to enter a family home before being shooed away by the occupants.
Another sighting took place in 2021, when viewers of Good Morning Britain spotted a black cat behind Andi Peters, as he was doing a piece to camera at Rickmansworth Aquadrome.
