Mixed performance for golfers Callum Shinkwin and Matt Wallace

Published on: 22nd July 2019   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Uncategorized

Pro golfers Callum Shinkwin and Matt Wallace rounded off the 148th Open two and three over par respectively at Royal Portrush.

The Bushey-born golfer, Shinkwin, finished in a respectable joint 41st at two over par unlike his Moor Park counterpart Wallace who struggled, finishing joint 51st.

Both players made the cut after four rounds with Shinkwin one shot under par and Matt Wallace was one shot over par heading into the next stage.

The 26-year-old has been a pro-golfer since 2013 and is currently ranked 380th in the Official World Golf Rankings – shooting up 41 places in the table.

World number 25 (dropping two places), Matt Wallace came under fire from ex-pro and golf coach Pete Cowen who said he need a ban after he verbally abused his caddie Dave McNeilly at the BMW International Open.

Frustrations appeared to carry on at The Open in Northern Ireland as he failed to take advantage of his good shots.

Up next the pair will be hoping to better their scoring at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational at TPC Southwind from July 25 to 28.
