Bushey Museum & Art Gallery has welcomed into its collection a special coin commemorating a famous former resident.
The Royal Mint’s Music Legends Collection features British music icons on special commemorative coins. Joining Queen, Sir Elton John and The Rolling Stones, the latest icon to be immortalised in metal is former Bushey resident and one half of Wham! George Michael.
When one of the museum’s curators discovered it was George Michael who was to appear on the coins, he contacted the Royal Mint in the hopes of buying one for the museum’s Wham! display.
The Royal Mint kindly donated the coin to the museum, and it is now on display with its other Wham! memorabilia.
