Watford FC are on the butt end of jokes and comments, after a video mocking rivals Luton before their clash last month backfired.
Ahead of their match against rivals Luton Town FC on Saturday, October 19, the Watford FC social media team released a video captioned “Taking in the sights” ahead of their game at Kenilworth Road.
The video shows shots of Luton’s bins, litter, and the club’s Domino’s Oak Stand which has had its fair share of jokes and ridicule from other clubs in the Championship. The post has seen more than eight million views, with the football side of X commending, criticising, and joking about the club’s video which evidently mocks their rivals.
Despite the confidence from the Watford side ahead of the derby, the Hornets saw a painful 3-0 defeat, resulting in even more comments from football fans.
One fan commented: “How did this post work out for you? All talk and on the pitch totally outplayed.”
Another said: “Luton fan here… This is brilliant.”
