Tring Hockey Club (THC) finished the season with mixed emotions, ending a competitive and hard-fought league campaign without promotion.
Their 1st XI narrowly missed out on promotion after they lost out to Thame in what was, for most of the season, a two-horse race. Crucial results where a draw was the outcome meant they missed out by two points. However, they remain positive and look forward to doing one better in the next season.
The 2nd XI were competitive against all the teams in the league, but could not stay the course; three games against the topmost teams, along with injuries to key players, meant they finished mid-table in a hotly contested division.
A spokesperson for the club told TRINGnews: “The development of the young players and the way the team played together mean there are so many positives to take from the campaign; there can only be optimism for the 24/25 season.”
THC are keen to rebuild and restart their ladies’ section, alongside welcoming new players for the men’s section. If you are interested, please contact Ian Grainger at ian.grainger68@gmail.com
