Man sentenced for intending to pervert the course of justice

A man was today (Tuesday, September 18) sentenced to 12 months in prison for intending to pervert the course of justice following the murder of a young father in Hemel Hempstead.

Paul Smith, aged 49, of Hosking Court in Maylands Avenue, Hemel Hempstead, was previously found guilty by a jury of giving a false statement to police about what had happened on the night of David Molloy’s murder.

24 year old David Molloy was stabbed to death inside an address in Saturn Way in the early hours of March 13 this year. 

On September 13, Mohammed Khalid, aged 27, of no fixed address, was sentenced to life imprisonment for his murder, with a minimum term of 22 years.
