A Croxley based rugby club are looking ahead to the start of the new season after a challenging year due to the pandemic.
Chess Valley Rugby Football Club (RFC) based at Croxley Guild of Sport spoke to CroxleyNews about the improvements they have made over the past year.
Brian Reilly, head coach at Chess Valley RFC said it has been a difficult year but the club are putting plans together to get back to rugby in the coming months and are planning to transform the changing facilities at the guild.
He said: It’s been a challenging year, but Chess Valley have come through it stronger with increased numbers across all of our age groups from under 6’s through to seniors. Over 50 per cent of our senior squad has come through our Youth teams, an indicator of the strength of the Club.
“We have teams in every age group, both boys and girls having opportunities to play competitive rugby no matter what their skill level.
“We have made major changes to the look of the pitch areas and are putting together plans for a brand new changing room block.
“All of the British and Irish Lions games will be shown at the Club this summer, and pre-season training will be starting in July in preparation for a full season (hopefully!) starting in September.”
Brian added that they are always looking for new members to join no matter their skill level, please do get in touch.
