Three new defibrillators have been installed in St Albans thanks to St Albans City Centre Business Improvement District (BID).
The life-saving machines are available to the public 24/7 and can be found near Barclays Bank, Christopher Place and The Maltings.
St Albans BID manager Vivien Cannon told STALBANSnews: “Defibrillators contribute to the broader community safety theme. In terms of saving lives, you can never have too many defibrillators situated around the city as they greatly increase chances of survival from a heart attack.
“On behalf of our BID members, we invest in the community, therefore enhancing St Albans as a place to work, live and visit.”
Each defibrillator is registered with The Circuit, the government-backed national defibrillator location database used by the emergency services.
St Albans BID are also working with the charity Hearts for Herts to add bleed kits to the defibrillator cabinets. The kits are specifically designed to limit and stop catastrophic bleeding.
