Chorleywood Lawn Tennis Club is enjoying some time in the limelight with their brand-new LED floodlights.
The lights given a much more full and bright shine than the previous Halogen ones the club used, which also cost them three times as much to run.
Turning them on at the big switch-on last month was long-time and senior member of the tennis club David Meeks, who also helped design the previous floodlights. He was joined by two new members, Diya and Nya Tarak.
Local optician and fellow member David Baddeley concluded his business would sell less glasses as finally patrons of the tennis courts could see, though he’s looking forward to increasing the sale of sunglasses!
Club Chairman and project leader Chris Van Dyk said: “With a 10-year warranty, the Club is looking forward to many years trouble-free, less-expensive floodlit tennis.
“Everyone has commented on the improved lighting and the spillage around the court perimeter is also far less. We are all delighted with this first significant step in our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint”.
For anyone interested in joining the club, New Year’s offers on membership are currently available at www.chorleywoodtennis.com.
