Tanya Jones, wife of football hardman and actor Vinnie, has died after a six-year battle with cancer, it has been announced.
Tanya and Vinnie were married in Watford in 1994 and renewed their vows in 2017. She died at the couple’s home in Los Angeles.
The couple were both diagnosed with skin cancer in 2013 and were both given the all-clear in 2015 but it’s understood that Tanya had been battling the disease for same time.
She underwent a heart transplant when she was just 21 and it had been rumoured that her cancer may have resulted from the drugs she was prescribed after the operation.
Vinnie was given the all-clear by doctors last year after a third operation.
Mr Jones’ spokesman told The Sun the family were asking for privacy:
He commented: “’Tanya passed peacefully at the Jones family home surrounded by Vinnie, their daughter and other family members.
‘Vinnie and the family ask for privacy while they go through an understandable period of mourning during this devastating time.’
Locally friends of the couple have taken to social media to pay tribute to Tanya, nee Lamont who had links to the Watford area.
