LEAP OF FAITH: Rickmansworth man takes to the sky for charity bungee jump

A Rickmansworth man has taken a giant leap of faith by completing a unique charity bungee jump challenge.

Stefano Annecchiarico took to the sky at the end of October, jumping from a crane 350 feet in the sky and raising more than £700 for Stand Up To Cancer, in memory of his late father.

Stefano said: “In April this year, we were all devastated as a family of the loss of a great man in my dad who was diagnosed a few months earlier with stage four cancer.

“Witnessing what he was going through, especially during the latter stage of his illness, was soul-destroying and difficult to stomach but I had to be strong for the entire family.”As the daunting jump approached, Stefano created a Facebook fundraiser to raise money for the cancer charity, in memory of his late father and was blown away by the generous donations from friends and family.

He added: “I can’t thank all those people who donated enough as it meant a massive deal to us knowing that money raised would go to an absolutely important cause. Despite this, I’ve left the donation pages open. I would like to reach £1000 if I can.

“This could now be the start of other fundraising events which I would like to continue doing in my Dad’s memory but also for other loved ones who have perished over the years due to this awful disease which hopefully one day we can find an ultimate cure for.”
