The site of the Rickmansworth Service Station, which recently closed it’s doors for the final time after more than 50 years of operation, has been bought by property developer.
The station shut down earlier this year following the retirement of long-running owners Sharon and Joseph Lewin, who had run the business for 38 years.
Bugler Homes have snapped up the site, which can be found on Victoria Close, and are currently in discussion with the district council about their plans for the location.
A spokesperson for the developers said: “We can confirm that we have acquired the former Rickmansworth Service Station. We are in the early stages of the project process and hope to meet Three Rivers District Council shortly to discuss proposals.”
The site is coincidentally located three minutes away by car to Bugler Homes’ offices in the town. The company is also, like the service station, a family-owned business which mainly operates in the South East of England.
