The number of noise complaints in the Abbots Langley, Bedmond and Leavesden areas has been revealed.

A Freedom of Information request submitted by ABBOTSnews to Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) showed that there were 21 noise complaints reported in the areas between January 2020 and December 2022.

The complaints issued were all concerning ‘domestic noise’, defined by TRDC as including amplified music, parties, regular DIY and building work, animal noise, and house intruder and vehicle alarms.

A total of 14 of these reports concerned ‘amplified noise’, six were considered ‘other domestic noise’, and one complaint concerned sound coming from a musical instrument.

Twelve of these complaints were from Abbots Langley and Bedmond, and nine were from Leavesden. Abbots Langley High Street saw the most complaints, with a total of three, while two complaints each were reported in Leavesden Court, Tibbs Hill Road, The Crescent and Parnell Close.

The months with the most complaints were April 2020 and July 2022, which both saw three complaints reported.

Abbots Langley, Bedmond and Leavesden had the second highest number of noise complaints in the two-year time period, second only to Rickmansworth, where there were 42 complaints reported.

Elsewhere in Three Rivers, South Oxhey had 25 complaints, Carpenders Park had nine, Croxley had 17, Chorleywood had 11, Gade Valley had 18, and Moor Park had only one.
