Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a robbery at a supermarket in Bushey on December 1.

Between 8.15pm and 8.30pm, a manentered Tesco Express in Harcourt Road and approached the till. He demanded money from the cashier while pointing what was believed to be a gun at him. The cashier refused and the offender struck the victim on the face causing minor injuries. The cashier then opened another till and the offender grabbed cash before running out of the store. Detectives investigating the incident have released a picture of the offender who was a stocky man who wore a black balaclava and fluorescent jacket with the logo of Tower Hamlets Council on the back. Detective Sergeant Alex Warwick, from the Local Crime Unit in Borehamwood, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who believes they saw this man making his getaway from the scene of the crime in the time after this incident. “This was clearly a very distressing incident for the member of staff involved and I would appeal to anyone who knows anything about it to get in touch with me.” Anyone with information about the incident should contact police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference J2/14/1453. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
