A pair of energetic estate agency workers from Pinner are taking a well earned rest after completing the gruelling 11 mile Tough Mudder endurance event. Kerry Morton and Samantha Coleman took part in the military style extreme obstacle course in Henley at the weekend (Saturday 2nd May). The plucky pair raised money for Help for Heroes and completed the course in less than four hours. Samantha, who is a Lettings Adviser with Gibbs Gillespie in Pinner, overcame an injury to finish. She said: “It was cold, wet and really tough with some steep hills which really tested us. It was a fantastic feeling finishing although I limped over the line due to falling awkwardly. The sense of camaraderie and teamwork is brilliant as everyone is helping each other. “These events are great as it’s not about how much money you raise or what time you finish. The goal is simply to finish, help others to do so as well and have some fun along the way.” Kerry Morton, who works as a Property Manager for Gibbs Gillespie, added: “This was my first experience of Tough Mudder and my colleague Sam talked me into it. I was very apprehensive and was not sure what to expect. I knew it was going to be tough but was not quite prepared for how tough. It was a great experience and I could not have done it without the support of such an amazing team that I was with on the day.” Tough Mudder courses test people’s mental and physical limits in a team orientated environment complete with obstacles including King of the Swingers, a pendulum swing off a 12-foot platform; Dead Ringer, a traverse across a series of inclined pegs using handheld rings and Cry Baby, a tunnel crawl through a tear-gas-like substance.
Injuries and bad weather no obstacles for Sam and Kerry
