Hemel Hempstead Swimming Club (HHSC) are thrilled to announce the conclusion of another successful year of competitive swimming.
In early 2024, the club welcomed a new committee led by chairman Daniel Capozzi, as well as new head coach Jason Keeler. Along with welcoming 40 new swimmers, the club has achieved major successes in several competitions.
The team secured 9th place in Division 1 of the Herts Major League in March and April, followed by 3rd place overall in the Division 2 Herts Peanut League in May. Fourteen HHSC swimmers also competed in 52 events in the Hertfordshire Counties Event.
The Masters Squad brought home 17 medals at the Nationals, setting 10 new club records and breaking four East Regional records. They finished in 2nd place overall with 55 podium spots.
A spokesperson for the club told HEMELnews: “We look forward to next season and will continue to provide high-quality coaching and training opportunities for swimmers of all ages and abilities.
“Also, huge congratulations to our swimmers who achieved regional qualification times this year: Heidi, Matei, Devesh and Luca. Their dedication and hard work have paid off, and we are incredibly proud of their accomplishments!
“We continue to grow but still provide a fun and supportive environment to allow our swimmers to reach their full potential.”
