Berkhamsted School has come seventh on the list of School Sport Magazine’s top 200 UK sporting schools in 2024.
This follows on from the school ranking in 10th place in 2023.
Berkhamsted School participates in a number of sports, ranging from skiing to rugby, which has produced athletes such as current Saracens player Tobias Elliott.
At the end of January, the Berkhamsted Boys ski team travelled to Switzerland for the famous Lauberhorn race.
The school also has basketball, lacrosse, football, netball and squash teams.
In a post on Facebook, Berkhamsted School said: “This incredible achievement places us among the very best, with the rankings including over 4,000 schools nationwide – both state and independent.”
In a statement, the school’s director of sport Tom Pierce said: “With results spanning more than 20 different sports and over 120 events, we’re so proud of our talented athletes and dedicated teachers who make this possible.
“The exceptional performance levels achieved by our pupils are a testament to the entire community, including our outstanding PE and Games team, our supportive parents, and, of course, the academic staff and senior management team at Berkhamsted School. I also want to thank each and every pupil for their aspirations and efforts to be the best they can be. Thank you to everyone for their support!”
