An appeal has been made after permission to develop the former Northwood Police Station was denied.
In October last year, Hillingdon Council rejected an application to convert the former police station into a children’s day nursery. The council’s reasoning included concerns about traffic congestion, air pollution, and the building’s listed status.
Last month, original applicant Azaf Investment Ltd lodged an appeal with the Secretary of State.
In the appeal, the appellant wrote: “The refusal of [the application] is flawed and based on inconsistent justification and reasoning.”
They added: “The appeal proposal is an appropriate use in a town centre location, would not have a significant adverse highway impact or cause unacceptable air pollutants and… there are significant public benefits that outweigh any less than substantial harm to the listed building.”
Members of the public are invited to have their say on the appeal as part of the decision process. Representations must be made by Wednesday, May 21. To contribute, head to www.shorturl.at/eFvRQ and search reference 3363359.
