The Chalfont St Peter community will come together to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III next month.
Similarly to the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June last year, numerous events are taking place across the country to mark this historic event.
Organised by Chalfont St Peter Parish Council, the Celebrate the Coronation event is taking place at St Peter’s Memorial Garden from 3pm onwards on Saturday, May 6.
Guests can expect a musical afternoon with teas, candyfloss and giveaways for younger residents. Those dressed in red, white and blue can even get a special discount on food and drink.
Born in 1948, King Charles III, formerly known as The Prince of Wales, will be crowned in the service at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, May 6.
In addition to his national duties, the King has visited the local area of a handful of occasions.
In July 2008, the then-Prince of Wales visited Chalfont St Giles with the Duchess of Cornwall to unveil a plaque in honour of famous poet John Milton.
The royal couple visited the former poet’s home to mark the 400th anniversary of his birth. After a tour of the building, the pair unveiled a plaque in honour of their visit.
