As leavers prepare for new destinations, independent Radlett prep school, Edge Grove, announced a variety of impressive scholarships.
Ediz Karakas, head boy of Edge Grove School, will become a King’s Scholar when he joins Eton in the autumn. The application procedure is very competitive, and the Radlett student is one of just 14 students from across the nation to be given a scholarship for September of this year.
The school also recognised Lucas Hao, a Year 8 student who received straight A grades in the prestigious and very difficult Westminster Challenge Scholarship Papers, which examine an individual’s thinking at A Level and require a great lot of perseverance, hard work, and devotion.
In addition to Eton and Westminster, the school has several other successful scholarships, with Year 8 leavers going to Harrow, Wellington College, Merchant Taylors’ School, St Albans School, St Margaret’s School, Aldenham School, Bede’s School, Shiplake College, Mill Hill School, and The Leys School.
The school’s Year 6 scholarships also included Roedean School, Aldenham School, St Columba’s College, St Margaret’s School, Queenswood School, Haileybury, Bloxham School and St Albans High School for Girls across a range of subjects including Academic, Performing Arts, STEM, Sports, Music and Art.
Laura O’Hare, deputy head academic at Edge Grove School, said: “We are extremely proud of all of our pupils. There have been some exceptional achievements this year and our Year 6 and 8 pupils have worked incredibly hard, pushing themselves above and beyond to secure a range of impressive scholarships. We wish them every success in their future endeavours, and we look forward to see them continue to flourish in their learning next year.”
