The head of a dementia care unit at a Chalfont St Peter care home has won a coveted award at the Great British Care Awards 2022.
Niki Woods, head of the Memory Lane Unit at Chalfont Lodge, won the Regional Frontline Leader award at the ceremony, which celebrates the best of care workers up and down the country.
Niki said: “I wasn’t expecting to win this award, but I am so pleased and proud.
“We don’t work in care for the accolades, but it’s wonderful to be recognised by my team and peers.”
All regional winners, including Niki, will go through to the next round of judging to decide the national winners in each category, to be announced at a ceremony on March 18.
Raj Boodhoo, general manager of Chalfont Lodge, said: “This is an amazing achievement, and the staff, residents and local community are supporting Niki wholeheartedly.
“There isn’t a more worthy winner, and we’re really excited for the Great British Care Awards ceremony where Niki will hopefully take home the crown.”
