Visitors at this year’s Abbots Langley Fireworks event at the Manor House Grounds helped support young people in the community by contributing to a charity collection held on Friday, November 7.
The permit for the collection was granted to Jack Mawhinney, District Lead Volunteer, who led the fundraising effort on behalf of Watford North Scouts. Volunteers braved the busy evening crowds to raise vital funds that will go directly toward supporting Scouting opportunities across the district.
A total of £702 was collected on the night. From this, £579.93 was spent on necessary expenses connected with running the collection and providing the hot chocolate, leaving a final fundraising total of £122.07 to benefit Watford North Scouts.
Watford North Scouts expressed their thanks to everyone who donated and supported the Scouts during the event, helping them continue to provide skills, adventure, and opportunities to over 600 young people locally.
