A total of 1,899 children have crossed the finish line at Rickmansworth’s junior parkrun over the past 12 months.
To celebrate the group’s first anniversary at the end of April, run director Isabel awarded each of the young athletes with a chocolate cupcake.
Special shout-outs go to Ava, who attended 40 out of 53 events; Erik, who finished in first place in the boys’ section nine times; and Lola and Martha, who reached the same feat amongst the girls.
The junior parkrun meets at 9am every Sunday opposite the William Penn Leisure Centre. The race is open to runners aged four to 14. Email kinggeorgevplayingfieldjuniors@parkrun.com to find out more.
