Home-Start Watford and Three Rivers hosted a festival-style event on Thursday, August 8.

More than 120 people, including Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor, came together at Holywell Community Centre to enjoy various activities, soft play, ice cream and a petting zoo.

In attendance were Everyone Active, BeeZee Bodies, Noise Makers, and Furry and Scaly Friends, as well as Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue Service.

Home-Start helps families build better lives for their children by offering counselling, empowerment, emotional support, practical help, and more.

Mayor Taylor said: “It was brilliant to attend the event organised by Home-Start. They’re a charity I’m proud to support and they do incredible work. Witnessing the joy and support provided to those in need reminded me just how vital organisations like Home-Start are to our community.”

This event comes on the heels of a significant transformation within Home-Start Watford and Three Rivers. A new co-leadership structure has introduced Michaela Foster Osborn and Karen Watkin as co-directors.

Michaela said: “By co-leading, Karen and I can focus on different aspects of our mission, ensuring that we remain responsive to the needs of the families we support.”
