The volunteers and medical staff at the vaccination hubs in Harrow have received high praise from the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Matt Hancock MP, after he confirmed that the borough has been one of the best performing vaccination teams in the country.
In a letter addressed to two of Harrow’s MPs, Gareth Thomas and Bob Blackman, Mr Hancock gave some of the impressive stats that show Harrow to be leading the way in the COVID-19 vaccination effort.
He said: “I am writing to update you on the fantastic efforts of your local COVID-19 vaccination teams. I am delighted to inform you that Harrow are one of the highest performing vaccination teams in the country.
“They have completed more than 80 per cent of the 80 plus cohort and care homes and have made excellent progress on 75 plus cohort. Harrow have also led the way on how to achieve the targets in a very diverse population.
“It is incredible to see this community spirit, as people pull together to lead us collectively out of the pandemic. I hope you will join me in thanking and congratulating all those involved in your area for the part they are playing in this national effort.”
