Chorleywood Parish Council has raised £1500 for Hertfordshire Mind Network over the past 18 months.
Prior to COVID-19 the parish council fundraised by having a lucky dip and “guess the weight of the cake” stall at the village fete; holding a quiz night and placing collection boxes at the parish office.
Councillor Steve Watkins said: “Chorleywood Parish Council are always happy to help local charities and Hertfordshire Mind in particular reaches out to people across a wide age range with mental health issues.
“During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are constantly hearing that loneliness and lack of communication due to the lockdowns have increased stress for young and old alike.
“The fact that there are charities like Hertfordshire Mind with their support staff on hand can make a tremendous difference to the lives of people suffering with depression and other mental illnesses.”
Hertfordshire Mind Network took to Facebook to thank the parish council for their support and help.
