In the early hours of this morning, officers from Watford stopped a vehicle linked to drug supply from the Buckinghamshire area.
As the vehicle came to a stop on the A41 towards Hemel Hempstead, one of the occupants decided to throw a large bag of cannabis out of the car right in front of the officer driving behind.
The driver and occupants were subsequently detained for a drugs search.
Officers searched the area where the bag was thrown and discovered a large bag with two separate bags containing cannabis.
The driver and occupants denied any knowledge of the package. All three were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug.
The driver of the vehicle showed clear signs of being under the influence and therefore was requested to complete a roadside drug wipe which he tested positive for both cannabis and cocaine. He was then arrested.
The vehicle was seized and all three males spent a night at Hatfield Custody.
