A Chorleywood resident organised a pre-Christmas surprise collection for the kindest street cleaner in the village.
Charlie Lamont, said the local street cleaner Rhonda is “always smiling and has time to say hello to both human and animal.”
Local mums helped Charlie set up the online donation link and get in touch with people that could also help spread the news.
Tilak Patel, managing director of Lords agreed to set up an in store collection.
Local poet Felicity Field also wrote an Ode to Rhonda.
Speaking to ChorleywoodNews, Charlie said: “A poem by Felicity Field dedicated to Rhonda was a huge hit with the local community and it reminded me of a yearly Christmas collection organised where we used to live.
“Thanks to our community, we gifted Rhonda over £500, presented with flowers from Andrew Fleming and a framed copy of her special poem.
“Rhonda was very surprised and touched by the local community’s generosity.”
