The Northwood Residents’ Association (NRA) committee is still functioning and working on behalf of its members.
As the council’s Planning Department continues to operate, the NRA’s planning officer peruses and challenges applications in the usual way and their environment officer advises members on such things as reporting smoky bonfires and overgrown hedges restricting the pavements.
NRA’s last ‘live’ meeting was in March, but since then the committee has met online and keeps in touch electronically.
Minutes are still recorded and posted on their website once ratified.
They also keep in touch with members through their notice boards and website.
In addition, they have a membership database from which they can send out bulk emails to those members who have supplied their email address.
At the March meeting, the committee decided to make donations of £250 each to four local health charities – Michael Sobell Hospice, Paul Strickland Scanner Centre, Mount Vernon Cancer Centre (Linda Jackson Macmillan Centre) and The Hillingdon Hospital Charity (supporting staff and patients at Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals).
A spokesman for the group said: “We accept that there are many other deserving charities but we felt that we should limit our donations to local health charities.”
NRA are currently seeking someone to maintain their website and database and to provide onward development. Details can be found on the NRA website.
All general enquiries should be made to Tony Ellis, NRA Chairman, reachable by 01923 821237 or chairman@northwoodresidents.co.uk
