Police are looking into reports of a ten-year-old boy being attacked while waiting for his mother near a restaurant in Garston.
The incident took place on Thursday April 15, near The Harvester restaurant, off the A405 North Orbital Road.
A 10-year-old boy was approached by four unknown males who assaulted him, punching him several times and pulling him to the floor.
The males then made off.
The boy was not seriously injured during the incident, but he did suffer a split lip and reddening to his stomach and back.
The boy was unable to provide a description of the four men as they pulled his hood over his face and he couldn’t see.
In response to the incident patrols have been stepped up in the area.
The boy’s school has sent a message out to parents asking them to get in touch with the police if they have any information about the incident.
The school’s message read: “The police would like to hear from any parents/carers or students that witnessed an attack on a young student.”
