An RAF veteran from Chorleywood is asking local people to send a message to our veterans this Christmas.
Barrie Griffiths, 63, served in the RAF for 34 years before suffering a serious spinal injury that resulted in his medical discharge.
Since then, he has supported a variety of campaigns to help other veterans, including Help for Heroes’ Message Wall. The charity is aiming to send over 10,000 Christmas cards to veterans this year, which will include messages of support from members of the public.
Barrie said: “When I received my Christmas card from the charity last year, which included a message that someone had posted on the Message Wall, it was remarkably uplifting.
“It would be great if we could get as many messages of hope as possible from people across Hertfordshire, which will show all our veterans that their service hasn’t been forgotten.
“Together, we can help them continue their story – and make sure their next chapter is filled with hope, purpose, and belonging.”
