As Black History Month draws to a close, Christ Church and St John’s Radlett (CCSTR) is hosting a talk by Anthony G. Reddie, professor of black theology at the University of Oxford.
Professor Reddie, who is a first-generation Caribbean migrant and director for the Oxford Centre for Religion and Culture at Regent’s Park College, is hosting the talk at 10.30am on Sunday, October 27.
In a post on Facebook, CCSTR said it was looking forward to an “enriching and uplifting experience” and was “delighted” to be welcoming the professor to the church.
The professor has experience writing about Christianity, as the author of Christianity, Empire, Whiteness, the Global Majority and the Struggles of Migrants and Refugees in the UK.
He is also the editor-in-chief of Black Theology: An International Journal, a role he has held since September 2001.
Another project the professor took on was the Council for World Mission’s ‘Legacies of Slavery’ project.
