A charity is calling on Bushey residents to deliver hampers of happiness this winter.
Basket Brigade is a worldwide following, delivering baskets of food to families in need at Christmas.
An event, which was also held at Bushey Academy last year, will see a team of up to 800 volunteers return on December 23 to help make up the baskets and deliver them.
Each basket costs approximately £14, with all the proceeds raised being put towards the purchase of the produce for the baskets. Each basket contains everything a family would need for a complete Christmas dinner, from the Chicken to the Christmas pudding & custard.
Volunteers deliver the baskets anonymously with no mention of Basket Brigade, they just leave a hand written card inside with a message saying that a friend is thinking of them at this time of year.
Every year, thousands of volunteers come together in hundreds of locations around the world to participate in their local Basket Brigade and so provide baskets of food and household items for an estimated 4 million people annually.
