Several Watford residents and charities have been named in the New Year Honours List 2025.

This includes Sarah Godwin, founder and creator of Hartbeeps Music; Ubaid-Ul Rehman, for services to equality in the LGBTQ+ community; Stephen Woodard from the European Conservatives and Reformists Group; Elliot Rae, the founder of Music Football Fatherhood; and Simon James Macqueen, chair of Watford FC’s Sport & Community Trust and Sport England’s director of strategy.

Also named was Enoch Kanagaraj, the founder of the Watford-based charity One Vision, who will be awarded an OBE for services to charity and to the community in Hertfordshire.

He said: “I am deeply humbled and overjoyed to receive this incredible recognition. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to His Majesty the King and the Prime Minister for this prestigious honour.

“This award is not just a reflection of my journey but of the collective efforts of so many incredible individuals who have worked alongside me to make a difference.”

The charity focuses on health, mental wellbeing, youth support and fostering community unity, through organising health programs and community events.

Harjit Singh DL, chair of trustees for One Vision, said: “Enoch’s tireless work and vision for bringing people together across communities is truly inspiring. His dedication to service and commitment to making a real difference in the lives of others has had a profound impact.

“This well-deserved recognition is a testament to his character, leadership, and faith-driven mission. We are proud to stand with him and support his work through One Vision.”

Dean Russell, former Watford MP added: “I am proud to see Enoch recieve this honour. He has worked tirelessly for the community of Watford at One Vision and in other roles. The honour is well deserved and also is testament to the incredible work of the charity for our town.”
