A heartbroken family is calling for information and help after their beloved pet went missing from their South Ruislip home during an armed burglary.
On Monday, February 10, Hillingdon Police shared information following the incident, during which in eight-year-old fawn pug Ozzie disappeared.
During the robbery, which allegedly involved three men with machetes, £20,000 of jewellery, watches and cash were taken.
The post from the police said: “It is unclear if he has been stolen or has simply run away frightened! If anyone has seen a dog like Ozzie, has been offered a dog or has taken him in thinking he is a stray, he has a loving family who are desperate for his safe return.
“He is microchipped and neutered so cannot be used for breeding.”
Speaking to NORTHWOOD&RUISLIPnews, daughter Serena Shutt said: “We’ve had Ozzie since he was eight weeks old, and he has been the centre of the family since.
“It’s frustrating, as we know he is with someone – if he had been run over or killed, we would know by now. But they have no reason to keep him.”
She explained that Ozzie often has health issues, has overcome cancer, and has a distinct scar on his leg from surgery.
Serena continued: “It’s the not knowing that is killing us. He has a solid routine where he was always physically attached to us; we spoilt him! I know he isn’t getting that attention now.”
Serena is urging people with information to get in contact, assuring that “we don’t care about what they took in the robbery, we just need Ozzie back home”.
