Honda has paid tribute to a beloved employee who worked at Crown Honda Bushey Heath for nearly 20 years before he passed away last year.
The car dealers have felt the loss of Danny Delucia (pictured left) since he tragically lost his life to cancer in October 2020 at the age of 51.
Danny was known amongst his colleagues as one of the best car salesmen for Honda, selling a whopping 5,000 Honda cars in total thanks to his high level of customer service.
To remember and honour Danny, his friends and colleagues at his former dealership have created “The Danny Delucia Memorial Award”.
The winner of this prestigious new award will be voted for by fellow staff at Crown Honda Bushey Heath every six months for doing something exceptional within the business.
Honda say being exceptional and having an exceptional work ethic encapsulates what Danny was all about, therefore this was chosen as the criteria for the award.
The first winner of The Danny Delucia Memorial Award was Sharon Boreham (pictured right), showroom receptionist, for never being late or off sick in 13 years, her amazing customer service skills and her hard work throughout the difficult COVID-19 period.
Sharon said: “Danny was a superstar and legend so to be the first winner of this award is something I will always cherish. We all miss him every day, but this award helps in keeping his memory and legacy alive.”
Danny’s wife, Carmen, and his two children attended the award presentation alongside the whole of the Crown Honda team at the Bushey-Heath Showroom.
Tim Dibbs, managing director of Crown Honda Bushey Heath, said: “We wanted to do something to help us honour and celebrate our great friend and exceptional colleague, Danny, who is missed dearly by all of us at Crown Honda.”
