An alleged shoplifter was treated by an ambulance outside Sainsbury’s Apsley Mills Superstore today (Tuesday, December 14) before being arrested by police.
Police were called at 11.26am this morning to reports of a shoplifting incident at Sainsbury’s in Apsley Mills retail park.
But the suspect, a man, reported being unwell, and so the ambulance service was called as a precaution.
Both the ambulance and the police were at the scene until roughly 2pm.
The suspect was checked over in the ambulance and found to be well.
As he left the ambulance, two police officers swiftly arrested him on suspicion of shoplifting and took him into custody.
